What do you need to chgjob that you can't specify in the sbmjob parmeters?

Anything coming from the class (which is assigned a job initiation, through
the routing entry). This includes priority and timeslice.

But why would you need to do that? That is, the class is assigned by a system administrator to help control work management. The class that is used is effectively determined by the job description used on the SBMJOB or other parameters of SBMJOB such as RTGDTA() or even JOBQ(). The class is an 'external description' of run-time characteristics that should not be overridden by a program, just as the order and type of fields in an externally described file should not be overridden.

If a different priority, timeslice or other characteristic is needed, than maintain the selection criteria outside of program code. Select the appropriate class by supplying the appropriate job description (or routing data or...).

Characteristics such as priority and timeslice affect other jobs running within the same environment. If those don't suit the job, then it should be submitted to a different environment. No?
