There's no mainframe or HP equivalent to RPGIV. I think it's fair to
say that it runs exclusively on the iSeries.

I think there was a RPG version on HP, not sure if it is still there.
Also on Mainframes years ago, I think only in batch, should still be
in
use.

Subject: Describing RPG IV

I have been asked to write a one paragraph description of the RPG IV
programming language and thought I'd submit something here to everyone
and
get their feedback.

Here is what I have come up with so far, feel free to make any
suggestions:

"RPG IV is a high level language developed exclusively for the IBM
iSeries
system. It is superior to many other languages due to its integration
into
the i5OS operating system, stability as a programming language, and
backward
compatability. RPG IV has the ability to process data in both
ineractive
and batch modes, and it also interfaces with the apache web server."
