I'm just getting going on VA RPG, using version 5.0 with one patch applied (SE14368). The product seems to be working pretty well. I started working with a subfile object, and there's no problem loading it with data from our I-Series. However, when I try to apply code to determine which record of the subfile is selected, I get an error. I'm following the examples in the manual and from IBM's web page, and as far as I can tell I'm doing it the same way. Using the SELECT event of the subfile object (or using a separate push button after allowing a selection) I try to read the subfile object using READS for Read Selected At this point, I get an error 0222 Pointer or Parameter Error. The details offer suggestions about pointers in a variety of ways, but doesn't say anything about subfile objects. The READS is straight forward. I try READS (E) and still get the error. I set an indicator value and still get the error. I set a result dataname and I get the proper RRN according to the debugger, but still get the error. Anyone have any ideas of what I might be missing? Thanks Jim Wiant Testing Coordinator Foodstuffs, Akl. Ltd. Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.
