Are there any tricks to getting a RPG/400 program to display a true datefield?
This appears to be a DDS question. Are you on a release that supports Date, Time, and Timestamp data types in display files? If so, does SDA on your release support them?
Note that RPG/400 does not support Date, Time, and Timestamp fields but it does tolerate them by converting them to character.
I have a true date field (data type L) from a database that I am trying to display in a subfile. There is data in the field but none of it shows upvia the display. Other fields display fine. When I add the field to the display using SDA, I get the message: *Field BZDTE will be defaulted to keyboard shift attribute type A* ** Thanks for any help you can provide.
Sounds like SDA does not support the Date data type and is converting it to character. What does the second-level text of the error message say?
I know SDA at VRM510 supports Date, Time, and Timestamp. I think VRM510 was when the system supported Date, Time, and Timestamp fields in display files.
