displaying date data with DDS -- RPG400-L

Hi,

Are there any tricks to getting a RPG/400 program to display a true date
field?

I have a true date field (data type L) from a database that I am trying to
display in a subfile.  There is data in the field but none of it shows up
via the display.  Other fields display fine.

When I add the field to the display using SDA, I get the message:
*Field BZDTE will be defaulted to keyboard shift attribute type A*
