I see a statement length at
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzamp/rzampdbsql.htm
But not a limit on the number of source statements that compose it.

If you do not find one at the website then I would open a pmr and find out 
what exactly your issue is.  If it is an undocumented limit then "send 
feedback" on that page and get it updated.

The RPG programmers guide has this note:
Note: SQL statements cannot go past position 80 in your program.
But that's about it.  However, the programmers guide also needs to have 
that exact section upgraded for free format SQL
Chapter 5 Using Source Files of

In the RPG reference, Chapter 12 "About specifications", Common Entries, 
Continuation Rules gives no guidelines about maximum number of lines in a 
statement.  Not that I want to try
