Phil, Do you have Bytware's Messenger Plus or Help Systems' Robot? Both include such built in monitoring. If you don't have such products, I'd highly recommend taking a look at them. Not only for the network monitoring, but for all the other monitor capabilities. The price is pretty reasonable IIRC.
