WDSC...
I use this method frequently when I have profile access to the machine, but 6 times out of 10 it is permission based access to their (clients) iSeries which does not allows telnet outside of their firewall without VPN. I was thinking it would be cool to have a small utility that would allow you to enter an option on a source member in PDM, prompt on it, and then select the predefined FTP location (or a create a new one) of where the source should be sent to. The destination iSeries would need to have the same small utility loaded so it could easily go and retrieve the source from the remote FTP location. I realize that for one time source code transfers this is a lot of steps, but if you need to transfer code even twice it sure does beat trying to copy/paste into an SEU window. Thoughts? To date I load up a save file, FTP to my PC, FTP to my server on the internet, download it from the internet onto the clients PC, FTP upload it to the clients iSeries, restore the save file - done finally. Whew that is a lot of steps... Is there a tool out there that can make this easier for machines not on the same LAN?
