Jeff - I'm somewhat guessing here. Is the file MRFBSH1P keyed? Did you define this file within the program as keyed? Is the file keyed by Status? Alan Shore NBTY, Inc (631) 244-2000 ext. 5019 AShore@xxxxxxxx rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 12/20/2006 09:13:07 AM:
I have a file that contains two fields and twelve records. Field 1 = Month & Field 2 = Status. I have found that when I read a record and do an update with no actual change to the data every thing is fine. But, if the data in the status field is changed then the program will not move off of the record it just updated. It will read month 4 over and over again incrementing the status counter. Why is this? Why would it not update the record and then read month 5?
