..Found it.... Go to the infocenter, click to expand "Printing", then "Basic Printing", then "Concepts", then "Spooled files and output queues", and then expand "Data queue support". It's not all that obvious how to get to it.. Alan ++++++++++++++ You'll have to dig around for the format in the data queue, I couldn't find it in a reasonable time, but you'll find it. :) Or just analyze the data queue entries inside an RPG debug or something... --Alan -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Richard ECUYER Sent: Friday, December 08, 2006 10:15 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: Sorting spooled files perhaps with OVRPRTF and OUTPTY ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bernd Dworrak" <bdworrak@xxxxxxxxx> To: <rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 07, 2006 6:26 AM Subject: Sorting spooled files
Hello! I have the following problem: An application creates spooled file 'Splf1' and 'Splf2'. Splf1 is a packing list and Splf2 is a delivery note. These files are created in batch, so that in the outqueue there is the following sequence Splf1 Splf2 Splf1 Splf2 Splf1 Splf2 ... and so on. Is there any API or tool that enables me to resort the outqueue so that first all files that are named Splf1 are printed and after that all files that are named Splf2?
