SQL or Native? SQL really doesn't like the dots (which is an old carry over technique from the S/36. On the S/36 you could save and restore by "groups". A group had to use the dot.). The workaround in SQL is to enclose the file name in quotes, (not apostrophes; people often say double quotes when they mean quotes and not apostrophes). Rob Berendt
