Yeah...I was going to test that before I posted that message as I thought that's how that worked, but I figured it wasn't that important to the point I was trying to make. My point was that if you have changed the source so it no longer matches the compiled object, you have to recompile it to run it under debug and once you do that, you are no longer working with the same object that caused the original error...so how do you know you have not introduced new errors by changing the source and/or how do you determine what was going on at the point of the original error since there is every reason to believe at this point that the source lines no longer match up to the compiled object? -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jon Paris Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2006 9:24 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Converting RPG to RPGLE
The compiled object, if you didn't compile it with the
DBGVIEW(*SOURCE) Shannon, First there is no such option for RPG400. Second even if you had done it it wouldn't help. The only debug option that preserves a copy of the source is *LIST. *SOURCE does _not_ keep a copy - just points to the original. Jon Paris Partner400 www.Partner400.com
