EXCELLENT!

That's a really nice technique.  No extra fields.  I see it could also be
used to compare against another database field, so that makes it even more
flexible.

The following example with Trim and Concats also works:
C                   Eval      HstNameFix = 'Media'

C/Exec SQL
C+ Delete from MyTable
C+            Where Name like '%' concat Trim(:HstNameFix) concat '%'
C/END-EXEC
