Only if the field that is being scanned is longer than 32k.
Otherwise, the net results are the same.

I have found a field defined as 5 U 0 which I would normally define as 5 I 0.
This field is used as a result for a scan operation:

D Pos             S              5U 0 

Pos = %Scan(' ': FIELDA)  

Is there any value in having this field unsigned instead of signed?
