RE: Costly PSDS

I could be wrong about this, but I think a job number can be reused even if a 
job with that number is currently active.  Jobs are not identified by OS/400 
solely by job number.  The job name and user profile are also used.  Therefore, 
it's theoretically possible to have job number x used by separate jobs with 
different names and/or user profiles.  

I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable folks on the list will be able to 
confirm or deny this.

I can understand your concern about job numbers
going full circle, but I should be able to rely on the fact that the same job 
number will never be active at the same time and based on that, as long as I 
"initialize" the job number data queue at program startup time I should be good 
to go.
