Jeff,

You need the quotes in embedded SQL if you are specifying the actual
value in the statement, just like STRSQL.

D @SQLByCat C 'Select * from dmitmmst +
D Where (WHSLC between +
D ? and ?) and +
D CATCD1 = ''E'' +
D Order By SAQYR desc'

However, you're not doing that. You are using parameter markers and
like I mentioned in my first post the precompiler/SQL runtime interprets
the values correctly.

Charles Wilt

Check the SQLCOD or SQLSTT after each SQL-statement.

I failed to mention that I am doing error checking, but I
went through your
suggestion in debug anyway. SQLCOD and SQLSTT stay at 0
until the first
fetch. Then SQLCOD = 000000100 and SQLSTT = 02000. Both
mean no more data.

Try to move off the '' around the catalog value.

Oh my goodness that did it! You mean one doesn't put the
quotes around
character values in embedded SQL? When I try it without
quotes in STRSQL it
tells me "Column E not in specified tables."
