It based on a JD Edwards program, so we have a lot of /COPY for common subrotines and I specs. It would take me weeks to convert all of them to ILE. "Alan Shore" <AlanShore@xxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:OF63FAF42A.31B3EE69-ON852571D4.00715D4A-852571D4.00713F13@xxxxxxxxxxx
Interesting. What type of problems do you get in attempting to convert to RPGILE? Alan Shore NBTY, Inc (631) 244-2000 ext. 5019 AShore@xxxxxxxx rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on

Hi List, I'm converting a RPG program to SQLRPG due to OPNQRY file performance.
In
the program the same file is opened three times. The first two file are logical and the third is a join file. Based on the PF, there is a DS(DS1).I tried to create an extrenally defined DS(DS2) based on the logical
file
but kept getting an error: * QRG4072 Severity: 30 Number: 140 Message . . . . : Subfield-Name specified already defined
as
Subfield-Name. Specification line ignored. then I tried to create the second DS based on the first, but I'm still getting the same error. My question is: is it possible to have a one DSas asubset of another DS? Thanks, Wes PS: Can't convert to RPGLE as the program is over 9K lines... -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailinglistTo post a message email:
