The goal is to enable RPG / 5250 screen to be able to link to complementary web applications. This is possible today by simply putting a URL like: http://CNN.COM on a emulator screen (with URL links enabled Edit-Preferences-URL) but again the problem is that URLs can become very long and not friendly to end users.
A few thoughts:a) If you made this a Web application (which can be done with RPG) you could actually use HTML and use nromal HTML links to accomplish your goal.
b) If you want to stay with green screen, you could have a function key "F8 = Open Link" or something like that. When the user hits F8, your RPG program could use STRPCCMD to open the link. (OR could call a CL program that runs STRPCCMD)
