If you do not want to use a logical file because all your programs refer 
to this file name, then name your physical something different and use the 
"desired" name for the logical.  The days of having to strictly watch each 
every logical on a file because of performance reasons are pretty much 
over.  According to Skip Marcasani.  Others have argued that on a flipping 
huge file that there may still be a penalty.
