× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

"also" confuses me.  Do you want this join to be used by processes like
select...
from ... join...
...

or is the purpose of this join just to update the one file from the other 
as a one time shot or on a periodic basis?
