LONG LIVE RPG!!!!!!!!! I'm still waiting to see COBOL die...I've been listening to the folks repeating ringing it's Death Bell...(it ain't happening for a LOOOONG time if ever...just like RPG) It's hard to kill something that is used daily as THE primary language in business applications. Why??? Businesses refuse to pay major amounts or money to replace programs with "newer" languages that produce the exact same output...can't say I blame them.... Heck RPGII is still around. It was greatly discussed on this very forum this past month. RPG isn't going anywhere. Ask your boss about DBASE, FOXPRO, ACCESS 2.0/95/97/2000/2003 etc. Those products have great long term support -as long as you don't mind re-writing/fixing/debugging the code after every upgrade ;) Happy Friday!
