Dropdown field in a 5250 session

Hi all
I'm trying to add a little "graphical" experience for the users of an app that 
I've developed and I need some advice on how to proceed

Basically it's very simple, a subfile that displays a number of records and one 
input field in the control format. There are also F3 to exit, F12 to step back
User enters a value in the field and it is displayed in the subfile. Based on 
that value the user enters a new value or an option. When an option is to be 
entered the field is protected and the user presses F4 and can chose an option 
in a window (subfile). The result is returned to the field in the main window, 
user presses enter, option ends up in the subfile and based on that.....etc

Number of options that can be displayed when user presses F4 is basically 
unlimited but will most likely never be more than 20.


I want the user to get the experience of a drop down box, to chose one option 
from.

I've looked at
SFLSNGCHC
Can I use it as a "field" in the main window?

SNGCHCFLD 
I'm thinking of this one, with indicators on the choice keyword and 20 
variables to fill, feels a bit.....hmmm

I would be very grateful for some advice


I've tested the SNGCHFLD but I can not make it appear as a drop down box, how 
can I do that, is it possible?
