     D  dummy1                             like(myNumFld)  
     D  dummy2                       -1    like(myNumFld)

     D                                9a   inz('Value is:')
     D  myCharFld                    -1    like(myNumFldSize)

     C                   eval      myDs.myCharFld =
%edtcde(myNumFld:'X')
