X'67' is a lowercase 'g' in most common character sets and a capital 'A' is
X'41'.
What CCSID is the data in that you are scanning?
There is a page that has the various CCSIDs compared with EBCDIC CCSID(37)

Subject: Hex value for Capital A, ring

We have used the x'67' hex value code to try and find the Capital A ring
character in a string. It doesn't seem to recognize the character. When
debugging the program and displaying the field with the character string in
hex...where the Capital A ring character is expected displays a zero. Any ideas
or things to check?

Thanks!
Ann Gerling
