PDF417 barcode printing from RPG program

Hi, 
wondered if anyone could help me out, with example RPG code and DDS when using 
PDF417 barcode format? 
Working on version V5R2 and trying to setup some test DDS and RPG to print an 
example barcode without use of infoprint server or AFP toolbox. 
How to fit data into printfile etc. 
Some example code showing how to make use of the full 1850 characters would be 
very helpful. 
All feedback gratefully received, many thanks in anticipation. Apologies if 
message construed as outside remit of this mailing list but desperate to get 
feedback.
