BUT...it will change the level check ID and all programs compiled against the file SHOULD be recompiled after the change is made to prevent data issues, application failures,etc. You CAN change the PF to LVLCHK(*NO) but I'd highly recommend against it. What happens is your programs will not error out but if the field changes were inserted into the existing layout the programs will corrupt your data...
