Hi Mike,

Well, one problem I see is that you open CUST for update in the F spec. As
you read, the record is locked and cannot be updated by any other
process....

Next, I wonder why you want to execute the update for every record. The SQL
statement is global, meaning that it only need to run once, and every
instance of 'TN' will be replaced with 'TX'. If your intent was to have SQL
only update the record that you were processing in your loop, then you'd be
much better off simply using the UPDATE opcode, and leaving SQL out of the
picture...

Also, I see others have pointed out that SQL by default wants to use
commitment control, and you need to turn that support off if you're not
using journaling.

Pros,

I am trying to execute this simple update statement. The program compiles
and it runs and gives the dsply message but the file is not updated. Am I
doing something wrong here? I would really appreciate it if somebody can
point me in the right direction.
