Praveen, Date + %months(2) is not equal to Date + %months(1) + %months(1) Nor should it be. As Simon points out, it isn't in Java either. However, Date + %months(2) is equal to Date + %months(1+1) In your example, you are doing two two different operations, adding one month each time. The BIF is not only working per the documentation, it is doing the only thing I'd consider reasonable given the operations involved. You aren't telling it to add two months. You are telling it to add one month twice. What do you think the result of d'01/31/2006 + %months(1) should be? Don't you agree it should be 02/28/2006? And then if you add one month to it, shouldn't that be 03/28/2006? So what is wrong with this picture? Doug
