Just be aware that to make it truly recursive you will have to create a new activation group each time the procedure is called. As I understand things, this takes a lot of resources. Has anyone bombed the system attempting to create too many activation groups. Back in the late 80s, I was working at a site that had a cute little program that would allow you to make recursive calls. It was a menu display. I wondered how many times this could be executed before it bombed. To my surprise, it stopped at 79. To my astonishment, the whole system halted. My face was bright red. When the CE came in he brought the system down correctly and it rebooted normally. The error said that a system stack had overflowed. I had no idea. This was in the days of OPM and S/38. When the guy installing the UPS clipped the wrong wire, it took this system 18 hours to recover. Those were the good old days???
