Rick, you were exactly right.  I changed the code to:

and it worked like a champ. I did wonder about using (h) but didn't test for it.

try this

C eval   $beg = (%size(Title) - (%size(%trim((cTitle)) / 2)

C   eval  %subst(Title:$beg) = %trim(ctitle)
