Thanks Joe. I'll check into it. Terminal emulator programming is new to me. I'm still trying to figure out the different between 5250 and VT100. is 5250 a sub-class of VT100? The way that Albert's TNAPI program check for EOT doesn't working correctly for my paging terminal console server. My guess is that each server has its own way of sending EOT to the client. Therefore, I'm guessing that 5250 is a sub-class of VT100 that has some additional logics that deal with AS400 data stream. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jon Paris Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 6:59 PM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Writing a VT100 client (was Getting compile error: *RNF5343 30 21002100 Array) >> Because of #3, I need the array (VT100 screen) in this procedure to be static. This will allow me to overlay the data from each response that client gets back from the server. An alternative you might consider is to use the DSM APIs. They were designed to allow C programmers to have access to a more familiar method of screen handling than that available with 5250. "Familiar" for most C programmers would include VT100. You may find that you can map the VT100 responses directly - or at least fairly closely by using DSM.
