Thanks to all of you that responded. I just read Scotts article in the Club Tech newsletter on sorting arrays using qsort and qualified data structures and this seems to be the best method for my problem. The array I am sorting is of an unknown number of actual elements defined as being BASED on a pointer for memory allocation.
