Would this sort of thing work? (I haven't compiled and tested, so if something looks wrong to you, it probably is wrong.)

D ds
D MODSArray 25 dim(2000)
D Item 20 overlay(MODSArray)
D Qty 5 0 overlay(MODSArray: *next)

C sorta MODSArray

Would sorta be a easier choice than QSORT? Since MODSArray is 25 long, and the field you are interested in sorting by is at the front, this should give you your desired results?

What is not clear to me is whether or not you can sort on the elements and get correct results. If you were to do sorta on Qty for instance, would the resulting sorted array still have correct data? Would Qty and Item still be listed correctly

I have a MODS that I want to use as an array.
The DS consists of 2 fields:
  Item 20A
  Qty 5 0
After loading the DS, I want to sort by Item using QSORT and then reference the subfields in a For ... EndFor loop. Any examples or suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated.
