RE: Lull period, standstill - ideas

This is the type of shop that runs by the skin of their whatever.

They don't embrace the new, the motto is if it aint broke, etc...

As far as learning the business, that would mean formally declaring that I
have nothing to do. not sure how to go about this.

I have been told not to challenge authority.

I was told to 'learn royalies'. it consists of some CL and RPG's. There is
not that much to do w/ it. IMO, you learn a system, by taking a users
call, by modifying a program, etc...
Not by sitting and reading CL's.
