A lot of these standards can be misleading. 1 - Using C to indicate CL. Ok, I rewrite the program in RPGLE. Now I don't want to have to change all programs that call this to call a new program name. Nor do I want to leave a one line CL out there that calls the new RPGLE program. Been there - done that. 2 - Using the programmers initials in the program name. Someone else makes a change - he isn't going to rename the program. Folks, there are commands like DSPPGM or DSPOBJD out there for a reason. You can use these to: - find out who last changed the program - what source file it's stored in - What modules it's made from Rob Berendt
