Here is what we use : AAAnnnXm Where AAA is application nnn is a sequence numbre X is a type of pgm (S=Selection, V=Sfl, M=Update, B=Batch (calcul...), G=Master PGM (it will route for slf : S and V..), X=Extraction (in csv, xml, printer)) m is a second increment CLP, RGP, DSPF and other are not qualified in the program name. file named convention : AAAnnnXm where : AAA is application nnn is a sequence numbre X Is P=Physical, L=Logical m is a sequence numbre (used for logicals) usually the L0 file is the index with unique keyword. No keyw into physical files. One special PGM is the trigger : AAAnnnTm where AAA is the same as the file nnn is the same as the file T is T m is a sequence numbre (usually 1 because it is on the physical file) Sample : If we have a cutomer file : CUS010P1 (PF) CUS010L0 (unique) CUS010Ln (others logical if necessary) CUS010G1 (Master PGM for CUS010P1 maintenance) CUS010S1 (Selector PGM : Only control input and update parameters) CUS010V1 (Sfl) CUS010M1 (Update PGM, delete, copy, create...) CUS010X1 (Extract) CUS010T1 (Trigger if needed) DSPF have the same name as the PGM. Hope this help
