I remember working with this standard on a project involving a package called Software 2000 and it drove me nuts. Our standards, and most others I've seen, place the type identifier at the end of the object name so one can type WRKOBJ AAA999* and see all the objects related specifically to the program. Just my opinion, of course, but I prefer the type at the end. Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager Roomstore Furniture Company (804) 784-7600 extension 2124 DFisher@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <clip> AR (accounts receivable) + type + 3 or 4 digit sequential number. If RPG, that's the name. If CL, append CL (or JQ - for "job queue", I suppose - for a batch CL program). Type - C = calculation program; P = prompt program; I = inquiry program; R = report program; U = update program. <clip>
