Dave, to simplify VALUES keyword has next sintax INSERT INTO TABLE VALUES (col_1,col_2,...,col_n) n=exact number of columns or if you want to INSERT data to designate columns INSERT INTO TABLE (col_name_1,col_name_2,...col_name_x) VALUES (col_1,col_2,...,col_x) In your case it would be (if ds is qualified data structure): INSERT INTO TABLE VALUES (:ds.fld1,:ds.fld2,...:ds.fldn) and fields must match the order and type to those in TABLE. I know that you can FETCH SQL data in QUALIFIED data structure but I didn't find anywhere that you can use it for this kind of INSERTING. In this code below I use the data structure named FIELDOUT to write the record when I insert. Csr InsertRec begsr C/exec sql C+ INSERT INTO COMP_ORDER VALUES : fieldout C/end-exec Csr endsr I know if I were in SQL I would just do UPDATE TABLEA SET COLUMN1 = 'SOMETHING' WHERE KEY = THISONE Not sure how to do it and still use my data structure, can I? Or do I have to do something like this? SET COLUMN1 = FIELDOUT_1 SET COLUMN2 = FIELDOUT_2 ETC. ETC. Dave Reiher System Analyst Prairie Farms Dairy - Corporate dreiher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
