1 - Let's keep in mind that they were talking about the release AFTER V5R4. So you have at least a year to a year and a half. This should give you plenty of time to handle it. 2 - This was from a non IBM newsletter and not the official IBM http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/support/iseries/planning/upgrade/futuresftwr.html site 3 - The article said that IBM said "these old compilers would be available as a non-warranted PRPQ". Now, to your question, is the PRPQ: 3a - for the compilers only and that the environment will still be there for the foreseeable future 3b - for both the compilers and the environment the tone of the article seemed to indicate 3a.
