Confusion?!? What about RPGIV, ILE, SQL, RLU, or even QueryManager.... <g> It seems much of the midrange community is easily confused and resistant to new ideas (or sometimes very old ideas) and approaches. All of these items have generated a flood of help requests on these lists over the years... With respect to WDSCi, I believe the biggest challenge is changing the way we work to match the tools. The legacy of PDM, SEU, and SDA has shaped the way most of us work, and while I believe I've been productive in the legacy tools, I firmly believe that I must broaden my approach to my work, embracing new technologies as I go. If you try to use WDSCi like a GUI PDM, you're bound to feel a little cheated by the expreience..... I'd guess that focused training would be the best way to expose the new tools to a reluctant staff, giving them practical alternatives to the "way it's always been done". I understand that Jon Paris offers excellent focused training on the new toolsets. It's still showing high on the score card for fix requirements and apparent user confusion. I suppose in ten years or so it might just settle down. :) :) Jack Derham Direct Systems, Inc. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces+derhamj=bellsouth.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces+derhamj=bellsouth.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 8:07 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: Weird Websphere Studio side effect Jack, I don't know much about Java, however I think it's something like this. You fix one tight little part. But to distribute it you put it into a jar file (or some such animal) that contains the whole package and send that out. Nearest I can figure. Once you get past the one big upgrade the other upgrades are more manageable. Rob Berendt
