I generally use OVRDBF to redirect stdout & stderr to a source pf.

CRTSRCPF FILE(QTEMP/STDOUT) MBR(STDOUT)
CRTSRCPF FILE(QTEMP/STDERR) MBR(STDERR)
OVRDBF FILE(STDOUT) TOFILE(QTEMP/STDOUT) OVRSCOPE(*JOB)
OVRDBF FILE(STDERR) TOFILE(QTEMP/STDERR) OVRSCOPE(*JOB)
