I notice that when you register with this service you have to fill in a form which includes fields for first name and last name. Surely if the algorithm were that good the form would have a single name field, and they'd parse it themselves. The essential problem is of course insoluble. What would you do with Clark Kent or Elton John for example? Never mind the complications when you get into exotic non-European names. What you /might/ be able to do is make a best guess and return a confidence value as well as the parsed name fields.
