RE: Encryption and digital signatures

Thank you all.
Just got out of a sit-down meeting and the more complete request is;
FL has a new regulation effective 7/1 that requires vendors to provide
drug pedigree to retailers.  IN, TX, NV and CA are soon to follow.  Our
customer(s) are requesting softcopy encrypted, digital signed (CA) and
sent over AS2.   

I looked up HMAC and found Qc3CalculateHMAC API.  Does anyone have
encryption examples they would share?  How would VeriSign fit into this,
if at all?  

Is anyone using AS2?  On the iSeries?  What software is needed?
