So it sounds like you are changing the library list, then calling a service program that already has the file open, in another library? I have done something similar by modifying the service programs. One option is to add a library name parm to the service program call. Then have the service program determine if it has the correct file open each time. If it does not, then it can close the file, re-evaluate an EXTFILE variable, and re-open it in the correct library.
