Im always open to an old fashion challenge- and its not because I still
enjoy my original 10lb. IBM Model-M 1391401"clicky" keyboard. Is assigning a
file as primary good stuff or is it a challenge? Does it really kick in when
you deploy level breaks? If I were to make logical assumptions, this self
documented code immediately tells me which file is the main driver of the
program in addition to other things. With a quick review of the funny
looking indicators I instantly know the program may do something such as
totals, reporting or initializing based on the field level indicators
(action is taken when the field(s) change). If the level indicator is *ON
and the file index correctly I -know- we have a break (I dont have to review
or skip over code that tries to determine this). I may even know when and
where initialization or total reporting occurs! Moreover, I suspect the file
is indexed based on these strange indicators. In addition, I may assume
when/how the program might end (a quick scan for the omission of LR or
RETURN may tell me). While trying to decipher the detail or break sections
of this self documented program - again I know what routines to review or
not to review.

The scary part is I was able to assume all this in under 15 seconds.
...good stuff? maybe, maybe not but when I come across it always seem to be
less of a challenge.
