Actually, anytime you let the program ride around until LR gets set, it's taking a ride on The Cycle. Whether LR is being controlled by a primary file, or by one or more function keys (great way to have The Cycle serve as an event loop in an interactive program), or by something else (like whether you've reached the last of a group of records you're interested in).
