Part of the problem is in how your LDAP server is configured. In my
case my LDAP server is on a windows machine which is running Active
Directory.

In my case I do the following.

  eval      rc = ldap_simple_bind_s(ld:
                  LOGIN_ACCT: LOGIN_PASSWD)

Login_acct = mydomain/userid
Login_passwd = mypassword

Hope this helps.

Lim,

Yes, I use the full name to do the binding.
( Otherwise the bind didn't work )

I've the same problem before and it was cause by me not using the full
directory path on the user ID when signing on to the server.

When executing ldap_simple_bind_s, are you using full directory path on
the userID field?

'cn=_ldapUserID,ou=resources,ou=corporate,dc=us,dc=mydomain,dc=com'

Hi,

I try to use the example routine Scott posted a while ago.

initialiasation and Binding work OK.

Ldap_search_st always gives 'Operations error' .
I tried synchronous search, but it gave the same results

I cannot find any explanation about this generic error.
any ideas ?

(we're on V5R2)
