I set it to:

// Read subfile records to ensure an entry has been made...
for idx = 1 to max;
 chain idx sfl1;

 if idx > 9999;
   leave;
 endif;

 if %found(PMTWKFPRM);

   // lost of stuff...

   update sfl1;
 endif;

endfor;

It still locks on the update sfl1 line.

Extra info: The write of the subfile creates three lines. This update procedure successfully updates line 1, but hangs when trying to update line 2.
