Hi,

What i use, is defined a file and use an external data-structure based on
this file.
I also use a name associated with the PGM name (PGMA --> PGMA_P is its
parameters)
so you can esay know if a PGM as a parameter and because the definition is
an object describe the parameter for documantation or other.

The technique I prefer is to design a data structure that contains the
fields that are commonly needed across an application and then create an
externally described data structure that includes them.  Then, any changes
in parms need be made in one place only.

I also have much better luck with data structures.
I have a couple of programs similar to yours and in those I passed one
long string containing all 4 values. In the sender I lump all 4 into on
char variable and in the receiving program I use %SUBST to get each
individual item, if it then needs to be numeric on that side I just use
MOVE.
