There should probably be an RPG-101 and/or an SQL-101 list. The number
of basic questions seems to be on the rise, especially regarding SQL.

I have some concerns about this idea:

-- Who decides whether a question is "101" or whether a question is "regular"? How would you even come up with criteria for this? It seems like a very subjective thing.

-- Even when the criteria is absolutely clear, would people follow the guidelines and post in the correct place? Look at the number of RPG related questions on Midrange-L. Look at the number of questions unrelated to RPG that are posted here. I'd say these are a fairly last percentage of the new threads created. Even the respondants often don't pay attention to the fact that they're on the wrong list. Seems like this would be even worse when you have two lists where RPG was the topic.

-- Don't you think the same people would end up subscribed to both lists, anyway? If they're not, don't you think that would prevent people from posting to one list or the other, because they want certain people to answer their questions?

I could certainly see having an SQL-specific list. But dividing into "101" and "regular' type lists simply won't work.
